In 1969 Geoff Hughes and David Evans gave their friends and families near apoplexy when they formed a design business. Geoff had ‘bought himself’ out of the Royal Navy where he had developed a huge interest and ability in photography and David had just graduated from art college. They had no commercial experience and not much money, but they had bags of optimism.
This year, the business will be 50 years old. In starting this series of blogs, we want to thank all our clients and suppliers who have supported us since the business was established. Its long life is also due to the contribution of the talented designers who have been part of the team along the way: Sue O’Brien, Judy Bradforth (née Legatte), Karen Mitchell, Kerry Counsell, Alison (Azi) Turner, Karen Roberts (née Sainsbury), Adrian Davies, John Smith and Sherren McCabe-Finlayson, who became a business partner in 2001.
